It does this by using the financial statements of twenty-two (22) banks in Ghana for the period (2012-2016), employing the CAMEL analysis. It uses descriptive statistics and t-statistics for the analysis. From the result, foreign banks depend less on debt when funding their operation compared to domestic banks in Ghana. The average equity to asset ratio (capital adequacy) of foreign banks is higher than domestic banks since the bank of Ghana sets high capital requirements for foreign banks than domestic banks. In terms of asset quality, the study found that domestic banks are able to recover most of their loan portfolios than foreign banks. The study found that on the average, foreign banks have higher non-performing loans than domestic banks. The results indicate that foreign banks incur more costs or pay their managers more than domestic banks. In general, foreign banks are more liquid than domestic banks. To conclude, the study found no significant difference between the average performance (profitability) of foreign banks and the average performance (profitability) domestic banks. The study recommends that domestic banks should employ effective policies that impacts positively on the overall capital adequacy ratios, asset quality, management efficiency, profitability and liquidity risk. Management of banks must review their statement and analyze periodically their performance to know the extent to which debt components are being used to finance operations compared to equity; hence managers should know how and to what extent debt and credit risk influence their performance. Secondary data was employed for the analysis. The data was sourced from CBN Annual Report. Graphs were used to describe the trends of variables while the ARCH-GARCH analysis, granger causality test, and Vector Autoregressive analysis were employed in the analysis. Unit root test and the Co-integration test were also used to check for stationarity and long-run relationship, respectively. Jarque-Bera statistic for crude oil price (3.509752) with a probability of 0.172929 indicates normality, while that of Profit after tax is 6.370729 with probability value of 0.041363 indicates that there is no normal distribution. The stationarity test shows that all variables are I(1). Cointegration test showed the existence of one co-integrated equation at 5 per cent level of significance. The Error Correction Term (ECT) has a coefficient of -0.316976 with probability value 0.0184, which is significant at 5%. This indicates that in the short run, performance adjust to about 31% of the price fluctuation, while the remaining 69% is accounted for in the long-run. The F statistics of the ARCH LM test results also indicate that there is no ARCH effect. The F value of 2.02960 for causality from COP to LPAT and with probability value of 0.1564, shows that Oil price fluctuation does not granger-cause Performance of Petroleum products Marketers in Nigeria. Similarly, there is the absence of causal relationship from LPAT to COP, with F statistic and probability value of 0.95211 and 0.4020 respectively, thus there exist no causality between COP and LPAT. Human Factor Analysis and Classification Scheme (HFACS) emerged suitable for incident analysis. Base on its suitability for incident analysis within the Ghanaian Mining Industry (GMI), a derivative of the HFACS, namely HFACS-GMI, was proposed. This research seeks to study the usefulness and the applicability of the HFACS-GMI. Collectively, 56 incident investigation reports were obtained from an open cast gold mine in Ghana and analysed using the HFACS-GMI. Two cases, an equipment damage incident and an injury incident, were used to demonstrate the coding processing in identifying the causal factors. The analysis shows that most mishaps are associated with adverse workplace/operator conditions (151 references), with the physical environment (72.2%) being cited as the major causal code under the tier. Management decision showed a major contribution (74.1%) to mishap under the causal codes. Most cases were attributed to mistake error (57.4%) followed by the contravention (51.1%) of set rules and procedures with the operator's act tiers. Inadequate work standards (27.8%) and failure to ensure competency (24.1%) under the operational process and leadership flaw causal codes, respectively, were identified as the most cited nanocode.
