In addition to examining these histories, this thesis also questions the roles of location and politics in the creation of these museums, as well as how these elements impact the narratives presented in each institution. Moreover, this thesis incorporates debates from museum studies and tourism studies, applying concepts like authenticity and the tensions between education and entertainment to black history museums. This research also questions how these museums approach historical narratives in our modern world. In a highly-politicized time in which truth and fiction have been falsely equated, this thesis considers how the purpose of black history museums has evolved to respond to modern societal tensions. The conclusions from this thesis will contribute a full-length study of museum analyses to the field of African-American museum studies. While extensive research has been conducted regarding the background of black historical preservation, the African-American museum movement, and the origins of individual institutions, there have been no major examinations of the ways that these museums represent history, how these representations compare to those in other museums, and how black history museum narratives are impacted by geographic, political, and cultural frameworks. Moreover, this thesis will serve as one of the first large-scale engagements with the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. Finally, this thesis demonstrates the importance of exploring the ways that African-American history is represented in a nonAmerican museum. This transatlantic focus extends the American-based scope that currently dominates the field, and the original perspectives gained from this inclusion may encourage further international engagement in future literature. Given Universities’ websites have been considered a vital source of information for prospective students, this study explores the quality and quantity of information about undergraduate programs available in African Universities. The study adopts the ALARA Model of Information Search on website, a novel methodology, which brings together case study research, stakeholder roleplay and netnography. Taking the role of a prospective student, the research explores the availability, location, accessibility, relatability and actionability (ALARA) of information provided on University websites. The study found that prospective students are short-changed as the Universities are not providing enough information for them to decide. More than 70 per cent of the best Universities in Africa did not provide any information for their prospective students about the programs they intend to study. The study offers both theoretical and managerial implication. It extends knowledge about marketing higher education, understanding student information search. Data for the study were gathered from 1211 students at three universities in the Bono region of Ghana. The study model was validated using structural equation modelling (SEM) with SmartPLS using the partial least structure (PLS). According to the findings of the study, hedonic and utilitarian factors significantly impact university students' continued intention to use mobile money services for fee payment. Also, the study findings determined that government policy and perceived usefulness had a significant impact on both hedonic and utilitarian values. Mobile phones and social media platforms, which are of great importance in this thesis, are used for contacting friends and families, gathering news but also as a tool for organizing a getaway. Therefore this bachelor thesis aims to answer the research question “How and why refugees might change their ICT behaviour when migrating to Europe?”. Until now, this questions has not been answered in the literature. Previous studies only focussed on the ICT use at the specific location of migrants and refugees (in their home countries, en route or in their host societies), examined the impact on ICT on social integration or treated the media discourse about refugees, for example, on Facebook. Contributing to this discourse, the author of this thesis conducted interviews with six refugees of different nationalities in two refugee centers in Düsseldorf, Germany, asking them about their individual ICT behaviour in their countries of origin, en route and in Germany. Based on the method of discourse analysis, the interviews reveal that the mobile phone as well as social media platforms are of great importance for refugees as they enable them to take part in their loved ones lives despite the geographical distances. On the other hand refugees did not changed their ICT behaviour now living in Germany compared to their home country, the purpose, however, did changed. A case-study approach was adopted for this study. Data was gathered and analyzed qualitatively through interviews of managers of five multinational firms in Ghana. The companies were found to be practicing a three-level channel system, a combination of exclusive and intensive distribution strategies and a partial integration, thus limiting their control of the chain of distribution. The managements of the case companies have adopted some measures to mitigate the conflict-prone zones, which, in most cases, are not yielding the desired result of consolidating their channel operations. This research may have limited generalizability to all multinationals. The major contribution of this paper is that it helps in drawing out key issues of channel structure and conflict management in a developing economy context.
