                <text>Capital structure is actually a mix of different securities. The importance of capital structure cannot be over emphasized since it impacts on firm’s value. Capital structure choices have had significant impacts on shareholders wealth. The study investigated the impact of capital structure on the profitability of Oil Marketing Companies (OMC’s). With regards to the firm’s capital structure, the study employed short-term debt to total capital, long-term debt to total capital and total debt to total capital in comparison with return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE) and net profit margin (NPM). The study employed secondary data and the data was analysed using multiple regressions. The result reveals that short term debt to total capital, long term debt to total capital, total debt to total capital, firm size, and sales growth, have varying and mixed relationships with profitability in terms of return on asset, and return on equity of the Oil Marketing Companies (OMC’s). The study recommend that companies implement due diligence in considering debt financing decisions, to come out with the best possible financing blend which will maximize profitability for their companies.</text>

                <text>The concept and definition of leadership style may differ from one person, or situation, to the other. The word “leadership” has been used in various aspects of human endeavor such as politics, businesses, academics, social works, etc. Previous views about leadership show it as personal ability. Messick &amp; Kramer,(2011) argued that the degree to which the individual exhibits leadership traits depends not only on his characteristics and personal abilities, but also on the characteristics of the situation and environment in which he finds himself. Among the objectives of any small enterprise are profit making and attainment of maturity and liquidity status. In the pursuit of these objectives, enterprises allocate scarce resources to competing ends. In this regard the objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between leadership and organizational performance. For the purpose of the study, transactional and transformational leadership were the main focus. The study used 10 SMEs which include 5 small scale enterprises and 5 medium scale enterprises excluding manufacturing enterprises. It was found in the study that leadership plays a key role in organizational performance. The study revealed that though both transactional and transformational leadership plays a key role in organizational performance, transformational leadership is more effective on organizational performance than that of transactional leadership.</text>

                <text>The pertinence of corporate governance doctrines in the management of corporate organisations cannot be overlooked (underestimated). The increasing influence of principles of corporate governance around the world has been greatly linked to the recent corporate frauds and scandals. These frauds and scandals are largely the outcome from the failure of authorities of countries to effectively implement the legal and regulatory frameworks pertaining to corporate governance. Ghana is archetypal in regards to the failure of authorities to enforce the laws and regulations in relation to corporate governance. During the enforcement of the laws and regulations of corporate governance, some vitally important issues are either overlooked or deliberately deserted. This paper attempts to examine the legal and regulatory framework of Ghana in respect of corporate governance and points out the importance of conforming to good corporate governance. It also accentuates prevailing issues of corporate governance practice in Ghana. It finally makes some recommendations, which are considered the major contribution of this paper.</text>

                <text>The extant literature shows that when the CEO of a firm is the same as the chairman of the board of directors it is more likely to affect independence of the board and the management of the establishment. For this reason business organization ensure independence of the two persons in order to reduce the propensity for conflict of interest in the organization. The objective of this study is to establish the veracity in the claim that personality related factors of corporate governance exert significant influence on performance of forms. Hypothesis 1 is accepted because the analysis shows that CEO Duality has a negative influence on return on asset hence performance of firm. Similarly hypothesis 1b is also affirmed considering that a unit increase in CEO Succession also negatively influences the performance of firms in terms of their return on assets. The influence of board gender composition on the return on assets or firm performance as postulated in hypothesis 1c has also been affirmed by the positive and statistically significant relationships analysed in this study. The findings of this research do not support the influence of board educational level and board experience as a significant factor in stimulating the performance of firms. This is because both results returned ap value less than 0.05 at 95% confidence interval.</text>
